Sarah J. Schwartz
Schwartz rediscovered her love of abstract art, drawing inspiration from her background in architecture and product design.
She’s an LA-based artist who sees her practice as a form of meditation—a way to slip into stillness and listen inward. In her work, she’s less focused on the end result and more interested in what unfolds in the moment.
That approach shows up in her materials and surfaces—repurposed objects and thrifted frames layered with mixed media. Her choices are intentional but open-ended, allowing room for the unexpected.
Informed by her training in design, her visual language thrives on contrast: brightness against darkness, textured beside smoothness, chaos held by structure, vintage mixed with contemporary.
