Liz Adams

Liz Adams is an American figurative painter based in Paris, known for her vibrant, expressive works that celebrate the poetry of everyday life. Drawing inspiration from colorful still lifes of French sweets and pastries, her bold brushstrokes and vivid palette evoke joy, nostalgia, and sensual indulgence.

Originally from Marietta, Georgia, she studied at the Art Students League of New York and the National Academy, and deepened her classical foundation through studies in Renaissance art in Florence, Italy. In 2015, she was awarded the prestigious Elizabeth Greenshields Grant, recognizing her dedication to representational painting and supporting the continued development of her practice.

Liz spent 15 years in New York City immersed in its dynamic art scene, and her practice has been shaped by residencies in Hanoi, Barcelona, and the Hudson Valley. Since relocating to Paris in 2020, she draws inspiration from the city’s joie de vivre and the delicacies of French traditions. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including a 2024 group show at the Metropolitan Museum in Tokyo, and is held in collections across the U.S., England and France. Through workshops, private mentorships, and online classes, she encourages others to discover and develop their artistic voice.
